Anonymous tip leads to eight arrests in Lafayette
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – The Lafayette Police Department received an anonymous tip from a concerned caller about suspicious vehicles in the area of 24th and Albany Streets Monday afternoon. The tip led to eight arrests.
According to police, investigating officers arrived to the area making contact with several suspects.
They said one of the suspects Thomas Land Jr. fled the scene and soon after was held in custody and arrested.
At the location officers located methamphetamine, synthetic cannabinoids and a handgun.
He was charged for carrying a handgun without a license, dealing methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine, dealing in a synthetic drug, possession of a synthetic drug, possession of a controlled substance, possession of paraphernalia, and resisting law enforcement.
Further investigation led officers to the 1300 block of South 26th Street where officers obtained probable cause and a search warrant for the residence.
Officers said they found methamphetamine, synthetic cannabinoids and drug paraphernalia.
Seven residence were arrested for various charges:
- Richard Budd: Possession of methamphetamine, visiting a common nuisance.
- Cameron Burger: Possession of a synthetic drug.
- Taylor Roden: Possession of paraphernalia, visiting a common nuisance.
- Zachery Shulz: Possession of methamphetamine, possession of a synthetic drug, possession of paraphernalia, maintaining a common nuisance.
- Ashton Vanpelt: visiting a common nuisance
- Crystal Weigle: Possession of methamphetamine, possession of a synthetic drug, possession of paraphernalia, maintaining a common nuisance.
- John Wright: Visiting a common nuisance.
