Army veteran injured in Iraq honored at NHRA US Nationals
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — There was a remarkable scene at the NHRA U.S. Nationals taking place this weekend at Lucas Oil Raceway.
Former U.S. Army special ops officer Gary Linfoot was paralyzed below the waist when his helicopter crashed in Iraq in 2008.
He walks today through an exo-skeleton he was given by the Infinite Hero Foundation.
Linfoot took part in ceremonies at the track Saturday.
He says he hopes people are inspired when they see his perseverance despite the injury.
The U.S. Nationals at the raceway continue through Monday.
