Arrest made after prank homicide call leads to discovery of drugs, gun
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Police say a prank call led to an arrest at an Indianapolis home overnight.
It happened after Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department East District officers were dispatched to a home when a caller reported a homicide had occurred at the residence.
Once officers arrived and swept the area, they determined the report was a prank call.
During the sweep of the home, officers discovered signs of narcotics activity and requested a search warrant.
A warrant was granted and officers found a handgun, body armor, marijuana and spice on the property.
The resident of the home had an outstanding warrant and was arrested in connection with the search, authorities said.
