Arrest made in November double shooting deaths

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – A suspect has been arrested for the double slaying of two teens in November.

Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department detectives arrested Juwan Ellis on Friday. Police say he was arrested for is suspected involvement in the deaths of 18-year-old Robert Young and 17-year-old Deonte Butler.

According to IMPD detectives, Young and Butler were killed in an apartment complex parking lot in the 9000 block of Briergate Court on Nov. 20. That’s near 30th Street and Post Road.

Police said Young and Butler both knew the shooters. According to police Ellis is accused of shooting the pair during a dispute that led to a robbery.

Ellis was taken into custody on an arrest warrant for two counts of murder, robbery and carrying a handgun without license.
