Authorities identify body found in Madison Co., one arrested
MADISON COUNTY, Ind. (WISH) – Deputies in Madison County have identified a body discovered Sunday afternoon.
Deputies said the body is of 35-year-old Billy Emberton. According to the Madison County Sheriff’s Department, around 2 p.m. Sunday deputies responded to a call of a found body near a wooded area.
Deputies said Emberton’s body was discovered near county roads 500 East and 1450 North in Madison County.
An autopsy Monday found no signs of injury. Toxicology results are pending.
According to the Madison County Sheriff’s Office, 40-year-old James “Brady” Helms has been arrested in connection to the case.
Helms faces preliminary charges for unauthorized disposal of a dead body and obstruction of justice. He is being held in the Madison County Detention Center for $5,000 bond.
