Ballard, Indiana Black Expo reveal plans to improve lives of black men

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Indiana Black Expo and Indianapolis Mayor Greg Ballard released a report to improve the lives of black males in Indianapolis.

The group focuses on black men and teens between the ages of 14-24. Over the last year a group of city leaders developed 48 recommendations. Some of the recommendations include, mentoring, job readiness skills and job opportunities.

In 2014, black men and teens made up more than 50 percent of the city’s homicide victims.
