‘Batkid Begins’ opens in Los Angeles
LOS ANGELES (WISH/KRON) – The new movie “Batkid Begins” – is said to hit theaters next month. The documentary opened last night in Los Angeles.
It stars five-year-old Miles Scott the San Francisco boy with a wish to be like batman. He is recovering from leukemia.
Through the Make-A-Wish-Foundation, Scott got to live out his dream of becoming Batman for the day.
On Nov. 15, 2013, more than 25,000 people joined in to help fulfill the little boy’s wish. Along with people in the city, another 2 billion people followed his day online.
He’s a great little boy. He just finished first grade. Lost his tooth. Played Little League. Basically ready for a really fun, low-key summer. And they’re (the Scott family) awesome. Couldn’t be happier,” said producer Dana Nachman.
“Make-a-wish” says requests have jumped 40-percent since Batkid saved Gotham.
Proceeds from the movie are going to the “Batkid Fund,” which benefits San Francisco charities.
