INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Bedbugs were found in an intake area of Sidney & Lois Eskenazi Hospital Monday morning, a hospital spokesperson confirmed.

According to Todd Harper, public affairs manager with Eskenazi Health, the discovery was made in a single intake area for mental health on the first floor where patients first come in.

Harper said the bedbugs were likely brought in by an incoming patient, and that only that intake area was impacted.

As of Monday afternoon, patient flow was not affected. Harper said the intake area was being cleaned and would be back open in a short period of time.
