Blaze burns through Muncie flea market

MUNCIE, Ind. (WISH) – Fire crews battled a fire at the 1900 block of South Hoyt Avenue through the early Sunday morning hours.

Muncie Fire Department crews were dispatched to Frankie D’s Flea Market in Muncie at 1:07 a.m. on Feb. 1.

The fire was destructive, collapsing several walls and the roof of the building that was once Muncie’s Ross Supermarket at one time.

No one has reported being injured from this fire.

Muncie fire fighters were still trying to contain the fire at 8:15 a.m. Sunday morning.

The Muncie Battalion Chief stated that units are planning to be at the fire location most of the day Sunday to flood the fire out.
