Bomb threat under investigation at IU Health Methodist Hospital

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Police are investigating a bomb threat at IU Health Methodist Hospital. 

Shortly before 6 p.m., an IU Health spokesman said he could not confirm that bomb threat had been resolved. He referred inquiries to Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department.

Shortly after 6 p.m., an IMPD spokesman said police had left the hospital, but had no additional details, including whether the hospital is safe. Officers with the IMPD and Indiana University School Police began investigating the bomb threat at Methodist Hospital, 1701 N. Senate Ave, sometime after 3 p.m. Friday, said Officer Michael Hewitt with IMPD. 

Hewitt said he had not been made aware of any evacuations at Methodist or nearby hospital facilities.
