Car spins out of control, strikes home

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — A car careened into a home and a pair of vehicles Thursday afternoon on the 100 block of West 73rd Street, after witnesses say the driver lost control.

According to fire officials, witnesses saw the vehicle, occupied by two unidentified men, speeding as it came around the corner on 73rd Street. It initially struck a pickup truck heading the opposite direction, before continuing to spin until it struck two cars in a driveway about 100 yards away.

Fire officials said the car came to a stop after striking the home attached to the driveway. The truck on the receiving end of the initial impact was forced into a road sign about 75 feet away.

Nobody inside the home was injured, but the driver of the car was taken to Sidney & Lois Eskenazi Hospital with slight injuries, according to officials.

It is unclear whether there are pending charges against the driver; damage to the home and vehicles is estimated around $100,000.
