Carmel Kroger offers valet parking while store remodeled

CARMEL, Ind. (WISH) – It’s one of those stories that will make you think: that wouldn’t happen anywhere but Carmel.

The city’s Kroger is being remodeled, so the grocery store has temporarily moved next door into what used to be a Walgreen’s.

Space is a little tight, especially out in the parking lot. That’s why they have to be creative to keep people moving.

Like the sign says out front, the store offers valet parking.

“Customers love it. They’re so surprised to see valet parking at a grocery store,” said Karen Hansen, Kroger store manager.

The drivers park the cars in the lot of the main Kroger store, next door, while it’s being remodeled. Then, customers just need to present their claim ticket at the cash register.

“Hopefully, by the time the customer is done checking out, the car will be outside waiting for them,” Hansen said.
