‘Coffee with a Cop’ program helps communities connect with IMPD

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – This morning people had the chance to chat with Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) officers over coffee with the officers who patrol their neighborhoods.

It was part of IMPD’s “Coffee with a Cop” program.

IMPD says any time they can connect with the community that doesn’t involve an arrest or crime, is a welcome opportunity.

Officers say having the program at a neutral location helps develop a great relationship with the community.

More conversations are planned throughout the rest of the year in different areas of town.
