Colts TE Allen explains why he kneels at the end of every national anthem
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Indianapolis Colts tight end Dwayne Allen released a video Tuesday evening explaining why he kneels at the end of every national anthem.
“For every game of my career, I’ve taken a knee toward the end our anthem to say a prayer for every man that steps foot on that field,” Allen said in the video.
According to the video, Allen said he received a lot of negative comments via social media after Sunday’s game against the Houston Texans and felt the need to respond.
“What I want most is for this world to be a better place for everyone who lives in it, for this country to be a better America for everyone that lives in it,” Allen said. “And for those reasons, I’ll continue to kneel and I’ll continue to pray. I love this country, I love everyone who lives in it. Go Colts.”
