ISDH: 4,411 new COVID-19 cases; 40 more deaths

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — The Indiana State Department of Health has issued new COVID-19 information for our state.

ISDH says 4,411 more Hoosiers have tested positive for COVID-19. Those tests were recorded on Jan. 13.

A total of 578,494 Hoosiers have tested positive for COVID-19.

ISDH says 40 more Hoosiers have died from COVID-19. The deaths occurred between Dec. 31 and Jan. 13. ISDH says 16 of the deaths occurred on Jan. 13.

A total of 8,830 Hoosiers have died from COVID-19. Another 372 “probable” deaths have occurred, but a positive test is not on record.

The 7-day positivity rate of unique individuals stands at 26.3%. The 7-day positivity rate of all tests is 15.3%.

There are currently 2,440 Hoosiers hospitalized with COVID-19.

A total of 6,271,603 tests have been administered to 2,792,291 individuals.

According to the Regenstrief Institute, 373,770 Hoosiers are estimated to have recovered from the virus.

According to the Center for Systems Science and Engineering at Johns Hopkins University, there have been more than 92,510,000 confirmed cases worldwide, with more than 51,130,000 recoveries and more than 1,982,000 deaths.

Hoosiers 70 years and older this week were able to register for the COVID-19 vaccination. According to ISDH officials, more than 250,000 Hoosiers who qualified were able to schedule their appointments.
