ISDH: More than 760 new COVID-19 cases; 20 more deaths

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — On Tuesday, the Indiana State Department of Health announced 761 new COVID-19 cases and 20 additional deaths.

The new COVID-19 cases and deaths are from between Sept. 26 and Sept. 28 while the newly reported deaths are from Sept. 25 to Sept 28.

In total, there are 119,066 COVID-19 cases and 3,385 deaths related to the virus in Indiana. Another 227 “probable” deaths have occurred, but the state does not have a positive test on record for those.

State officials say 12,630 new tests have now been received. Of those, 5,446 were new individuals. The new tests were administered between Aug. 18 and Sept. 28.

According to ISDH, there have been 2,042,146 tests administered in the state.

The state’s 7-day rate of positivity for unique individuals stands at 6.9%.

According to the Center for Systems Science and Engineering at Johns Hopkins University, there have been more than 33,423,000 confirmed cases worldwide, with more than 23,197,000 recoveries and more than 1,003,000 deaths.
