Crash on I-74 spills Crisco spray onto interstate
FAIRLAND, Ind. (WISH) – According to Indiana State Police, an overturned semi closed the eastbound lanes of I-74 in Shelby County Friday afternoon.
The crash happened at the 108 mile marker when a semi and car collided. The semi was hauling Crisco spray and because of the accident, the spray spilled onto the interstate.
According to ISP, the crash involved a 2012 Freightliner tractor pulling a box trailer and a Honda passenger car from Ohio. The box trailer struck a yellow sand container and bridge support of the Brandywine overpass, causing the Crisco spray to spill.
State police expect the clean up to take several hours.
The driver of the car was taken to a local hospital to be checked out. However, officers say no serious injuries happened in the accident and they ask motorists to avoid the area.
A cause of the crash was still under investigation Friday afternoon.
