1 dead in shooting on city’s west side
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — A person is dead after a Sunday evening shooting on the city’s west side.
Officers with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department were called to the 500 block of North Tremont Street — that’s west of Belmont Avenue and north of Michigan Street — around 9:35 p.m. Sunday.
They arrived to find a victim who was deceased, Officer Genae Cook with IMPD Public Affairs said by email.
The victim has since been identified as Kerry Winfrey III.
No additional information about the circumstances of the shooting were immediately available.
