2 arrested in connection with string of Facebook Marketplace robberies

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Two men were arrested Saturday in connection with six separate Facebook Marketplace robberies on the city’s east side, the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department said Sunday.

Around 1:30 p.m. Saturday, detectives were investigating a string of Marketplace robberies in the 9100 block of E. 39th St. when they were alerted to a robbery that had just happened.

Police identified a suspect and chased him into a nearby apartment complex.

After a standoff with police, two suspects — Kewaun Cloud, 18, and Jayson Wilson, 18 — were arrested for their alleged involvement with the series of robberies.

IMPD recovered two handgun, stolen property and over three pounds of marijuana from the scene.

Police say the robberies began on Aug. 30.
