3rd man convicted in 2018 murder of pizza delivery driver

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — A third man has been convicted in the 2018 fatal robbery of an Indianapolis pizza delivery driver, the Marion County Prosecutor’s Office announced Thursday.

After a three-day jury trial, Jason Epeards was found guilty of felony murder and robbery resulting in serious bodily injury for the Aug. 20, 2018 killing of Levon Drake.

According to authorities, Drake was a manager-in-training at Papa John’s and had gone into work on his day off to help deliver pizzas.

While attempting to make a delivery, Drake was lured into a vacant home in the 14400 block of Kristen Circle by Epeards and two other men.

The men robbed and killed Drake.

In August of 2019, one of the men, Juwaun Terry, pleaded guilty to robbery and murder. He received a 60-year sentence.

In June, a second man, Jasean Dale, was convicted by a jury and was found guilty on charges of murder, felony murder and robbery resulting in serious bodily injury.

Epeards’s sentencing hearing is scheduled for Dec. 10.
