BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (WISH) – A 25-year-old has been arrested in connection to a Bloomington sexual assault, according to the Bloomington Police Department.

On Oct. 12, around 9 p.m., officers responded to an apartment in the 700 block of South College Mall for a report of an assault.

Police said that after arriving on the scene, the 24-year-old victim was located with several injuries to her head and face.

The victim, who was transported to the hospital for her injuries, said she had been sexually assaulted by Wesley Green and that he also struck her in the face and head several times.

As a result of the assault, the woman suffered a fractured eye socket and bleeding on the brain. Due to the seriousness of her injuries, she was then flown to IU Health Methodist Hospital.

On Oct. 13, police said Green tried to call the victim. The department says they were then able to locate Green in the 2500 block of East 3rd Street where he ran from officers. A short foot chase then ensued before Green was eventually apprehended and taken into custody.

He faces preliminary charges of rape, aggravated battery, domestic battery and resisting law enforcement.
