FBI arrests former state senator Brent Waltz after search of his condominium
GREENWOOD, Ind. (WISH) — The FBI on Monday arrested a former Indiana state senator and congressional candidate after executing federal warrants at his home.
The warrants were executed in Greenwood at a condominium that belongs to former state senator Brent Waltz, the FBI confirmed.
Waltz, a Republican, served in the state Senate from 2005-17. He lost a five-way race to U.S. Rep. Trey Hollingsworth in a 2016 Republican primary in Indiana’s 9th congressional district.
He founded an investment banking company, The Baron Group, in 1995, according to state business records.
No additional information about charges he faces was immediately available.
