INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department on Friday was investigating a fatal hit-and-run on the city’s east side.

At 7:56 p.m. Friday, IMPD officers were dispatched to the 5200 block of Massachusetts Avenue on a report of a vehicle crash. After arriving to the scene, officers found a vehicle flipped on it’s side with a body outside the vehicle. Medical services arrived on the scene and pronounced the victim (an adult male) dead on the scene.

Investigators confirmed that the accident was a hit-and-run and the victim was ejected from his vehicle.

Police are looking for a 2014 silver Chrysler 200. Investigators were unable to confirm if the driver of the Chrysler was a male or female, but they did confirm that the driver was wearing a black shirt and the Chrysler has heavy front-end damage, with the front bumper of the Chrysler still at the scene of the accident.
