Father pleads guilty after taking daughter
PLAINFIELD, Ind. (WISH) – Jacob McWilliams, 27, has been sentenced after pleading guilty in an interference with custody case.
In Feb. 2015, police in Plainfield searched for missing 2-year-old Sylvia Hess McWilliams. Detectives said Sylvia was taken by McWilliams, her non-custodial father.
Officials worried the child was in danger. IMPD later found McWilliams in Indianapolis and took him into custody. They said they found Sylvia safe, at the same location.
According to court documents, McWilliams will spend no time in jail, but will have to take anger management and parenting classes.
