FedEx to hire 1,300 holiday workers in central Indiana

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — FedEx will be filling more than 1,000 positions in central Indiana ahead of the holiday season.

The positions include package handlers and other support positions.

Across the country, FedEx plans to hire more than 55,000 permanent and seasonal positions before the holidays arrive, 1,300 of those jobs based around central Indiana. 

During a Thursday job fair, FedEx said the majority of workers hired will have the opportunity to stay on with the company after the holidays.

“As a handler, it’s fast-paced and often physically demanding. It is rewarding work because even though it is part-time, you still get the same benefits as our full-time employees: 401k, health care, all the perks you get as an employee,” said Sharday Williams with FedEx.
