Feds seeking ‘armed and dangerous’ suspect in murder, drug racketeering cases

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — The FBI’s Indianapolis Field Office is looking for tips in the case of a man wanted for murder and drug racketeering.

Federal agents are looking for Juan Alberto Mendez. Mendez goes by a number of aliases, including:

  • J. Alberto Mendez
  • Jaun Alberto Mendez
  • Juan A. Mendez
  • Juan Mendez
  • Nick America-S-Rolling-Freight
  • Nick Mendez

A federal arrest warrant was issued for Mendez in September 2015 out of the United States District Court for the Northern District of Indiana for conspiracy to distrubute and possess with intent to distribute Schedule 1 substance (heroin), Schedule II substance (cocaine), Schedule 1 substance (marijuana) and forfeiture.

A federal warrant was also issued out of Texas in May 2018 for attempted murder in aid of racketeering and murder in aid of racketeering and other charges.

Mendez was born in Texas and may be residing in Reynosa, Mexico. Agents consider him a domestic and international escape risk.

Federal investigators say he should be considered armed and dangerous.
