Final Four coaches address media
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — All four Final Four coaches talked to the media Thursday for the first time.
The attention was not only on their teams as they prepare, but also the new legislation that was passed in Indiana last week.
Coach Mike Krzyzewski focused more on the city as a whole.
“I still think Indianapolis puts it on the best, it’s remarkable how beautiful it is here and how everything is (here),” Krzyzewski said.
The Duke coach also went on to say, “It’s as good as it gets.”
Another story line headed into the weekend is the return of Tech graduate and Kentucky freshmen Trey Lyles. Lyles won the Indiana State Championship just over a year ago and now has a chance to win a national championship in his hometown.
“I worry about that and to be honest and, in fact, I forgot about that until I looked at him on the bus last night and I went ‘oh my gosh, we are coming back to Indianapolis,’” said Kentucky coach John Calipari.
Calipari joked, “He laughs about it but it’s a hard deal. The whole environment is a hard deal for everybody”
Public team practices will be held Friday.
