Fort Wayne school acts against teacher in Fox News sourcing incident
FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – A Fort Wayne Community Schools teacher has come under national scrutiny.
A family has accused a Blackhawk Middle School teacher of bullying their son for using Fox News as a source for an assignment. The family told the News-Sentinel that a Spanish teacher reprimanded the student for using what she called a “fake news source.”
The family reported the allegation to the school, and the teacher reportedly apologized the next day in class.
The district released this statement:
“Fort Wayne Community Schools does not condone the kind of behavior detailed by this parent. When we were notified, we immediately investigated and took appropriate action. Because this is a personnel matter, we cannot provide details of the outcome of the investigation.”
