Franklin mayor promises continued construction funding

FRANKLIN, Ind. (WISH) — Tuesday marked the annual State of the City for Franklin.

The mayor spoke about momentum the city is experiencing.

The address was held at the historic Artcraft Theatre on Main Street.

Mayor Joe McGuinness said the city will continue road funding and trail projects.

He said the work along North Main Street will continue as well.

“I think the four years have gone extremely fast, but I think in those four years we have a great group of staff and department leaders that have really helped take us to the next level,” Mcguinnness said. “So the last four years, I think, we’ve accomplished a lot more than I had expected.”

The mayor also said that public-private partnerships are a priority for the city, and he welcomes any and all new projects.
