Greenwood police fatally shoot suspect

GREENWOOD, Ind. (WISH) — Greenwood police fatally shot a man Saturday morning, a police spokesperson confirmed.

It happened in the 800 block of Heatherwood Lane around 10:15 a.m.

Greenwood Police Department public information officer Matt Fillenwarth said a woman called 911 to say her boyfriend had stabbed her.

The woman has been identified as 35-year-old Emily Glass who shared the residence with the boyfriend.

After finding Glass being threatened by her boyfriend with a knife in the garage, the officer fired multiple shots, fatally hitting the suspect, Fillenwarth said.

Glass was taken to Sidney and Lois Eskenazi Hospital in very serious condition.

The couple had a 2-year-old daughter together, who was at the residence at the time of the shooting.
