Hill discusses 500 mile journey across Indiana

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Democratic Senate Candidate Baron Hill stopped by 24-Hour News 8’s studio’s Friday morning to discuss his upcoming journey, and Congressman Todd Young’s campaign manager, Trevor Foughty, is commenting on the news.

Hill said he plans to walk 500 miles across the state to campaign for a U.S. Senate seat. He will start in South Bend and then work his way south to Evansville.

Foughty said Hill’s walk across the state is a “publicity stunt.”

“Congressman-turned-lobbyist Baron Hill was voted out of office because he supported Barack Obama’s failed stimulus spending, his devastating Cap-and-Trade energy tax, and the deeply unpopular Obamacare. Hill tried this publicity stunt the first time he ran and lost for the U.S. Senate back in 1990.  If the gimmick didn’t work before he was a rubber stamp for Barack Obama, it certainly won’t work after.”

Foughty said the “Young campaign” will announce events soon, saying Representative Young has been in D.C. for votes nearly every week since the primary.

Later this month, Foughty said Young will spend eight straight weeks in Indiana.
