Housing data shows promising year for sellers
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — New housing data shows this could be a strong year for those looking to sell their homes.
The first numbers in 2015 show that home sales are up across the board in Indiana.
Metropolitan Indianapolis Board of REALTORS President Kathy Hall said that low inventories mean sellers have been getting more offers. She said buyers may be jumping into the market early because of low interest rates.
There’s also a sense of urgency because the Federal Reserve System has suggested it may raise those interest rates sometime this year.
“We’re still at all-time lows. There are some indicators that it may be in the fall time that we see something happen with the fed, but right now it’s as cheap as its ever been so it’s a great time for the buyers to be in the market,” she said.
Hall said a new group of millennial buyers has entered the market and that is helping drive up sales of homes as well as the prices.
