IL teen jailed after high-speed chase enters IN

FOUNTAIN COUNTY, Ind. (WISH) – An 18-year-old from Danville, Illinois was booked into the Fountain County Jail after police say she led Illinois officers on a high-speed chase into Indiana.

According to police, a Danville officer tried to stop Dorries Williams Monday evening for a routine traffic stop. Instead of stopping, Williams took off, leading officers on a high-speed chase that police believe reached 90 to 100 mph.

The chase went over the state line into Indiana. Police say the pursuit ended when Williams ran over a stop stick placed by a Warren County, Indiana deputy.

Williams was booked into the Fountain County Jail and faces numerous charges in both states, including felony fleeing and eluding, 24-Hour News 8’s news partners at The Hendricks County Flyer report.

Police say Williams has a record of serious traffic violations.
