IMPD carries out search warrant, 2 arrested, drugs and gun found
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Two people are behind bars following after the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department received a report about possible synthetic marijuana dealing.
According to IMPD, they received the report of the possible drug dealing just after 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 28. Officers were soon thereafter able to identify the alleged drug dealers as 27-year-old Johnnie Adams Jr.
Adams Jr. was taken into custody following a traffic stop, during which several ounces of synthetic marijuana, a loaded handgun and more than $1,300 in cash was located in his vehicle. He was then taken into custody.
After the arrest, officers then obtained and executed a search warrant on Adams’ residence in the 2900 block of North Delaware Street, police say.
That search resulted in the discovery of the following items:
- Estimated 30lbs synthetic marijuana/spice
- Glass jars containing marijuana
- 3 assault rifles
- 3 handguns
- Silencer for a handgun
- Bulletproof vest
- Drug dealing paraphernalia
Additionally, during the search, 53-year-old Johnnie Adams Sr. was arrested.
Both men were transported to Marion County Lockup. They face a number of preliminary drug-related charges.
