Holcomb presents Indy businessman with Sachem Award

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Gov. Eric Holcomb presented the Sachem Award to a longtime Indiana businessman.

The state’s highest honor was given to Reginald Jones Sr. Jones was recognized for his role as a businessman, community leader and mentor.

Jones has been an advocate for encouraging the youth and helping the homeless in Indianapolis.

“Reggie’s life is defined by his mission-minded mentorship and his unstoppable desire to help people maximize their potential,” said Holcomb. “He’s achieved great success by demonstrating that with limitless determination, a thirst for learning and with someone who believes in you, there’s no dream that’s impossible.”

Jones moved to Indianapolis in 1996 and bought two McDonalds restaurants.

He offered scholarships to his workers and encouraged children to succeed in school, which provided free bicycles as a reward.
