Arts commission adds to poetry archive

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (Inside INdiana Business) – The Indiana Arts Commission has added the works of 32 poets to Indiana’s poetry archive. The commission says INverse, which is an initiative of former Indiana Poet Laureate Adrian Matejka, supports the preservation of Indiana poetry for future generations of Indiana writers and readers.

The IAC says it partnered with the Indiana State Library to have the works added.

“I would like to commend the Rare Books and Manuscripts Division here at the Indiana State Library for the countless hours they put into building the INverse archive. Their hard work will allow access to the works of Hoosier poets for generations to come,” said Jacob Speer, Indiana State Librarian.

The commission says Hoosiers are invited to submit poems to the archive annually between February 1 and April 30.
