Earlham College launches online initiative
RICHMOND, Ind. (Inside INdiana Business) – Earlham College is launching an online learning presence through its new Online@Earlham initiative. The college says the initiative will feature nine online courses in an accelerated format that will be offered this summer.
Earlham says classes are being offered in a seven-week format, which starts May 26 and ends July 15, and each class is worth three credits toward a bachelor’s degree.
“Our Online@Earlham initiative is an important step in our commitment to widening the path to an Earlham education,” President Anne Houtman said. “Coursework is affordable and flexible to meet the needs of bachelor’s degree-seeking students and others looking to expand their knowledge and further shape their worldview.”
The college says online course topics include personal finance, the history of medicine through epidemics, Chinese love stories, business communications, history of rock-and-roll, introduction to psychological perspectives, trauma-informed classroom and social emotional learning, motivations and emotion, financial accounting, and banking and monetary policy.
Registration is now available for current students as well as Earlham alumni and the general public. The college says students can only take one course during the term because of the accelerated format.
