Partnership to bring coding school to Evansville
EVANSVILLE, Ind. (Inside INdiana Business) — Elevate Ventures Southwest is partnering with Evansville-based Vectren and Indianapolis-based Eleven Fifty Academy to bring the nonprofit coding school’s curriculum to southwest Indiana. The academy says its bootcamp-style classes will help enhance the pool of skilled technology workers in the region.
The three partners are providing $160,000 in tuition support through a Progressive Income Share Agreement. The PISA will provide students from the region 0% interest financial aid, that would be paid back once the student is hired for a technology position after graduating.
“These funds will create jobs that are high paying and in high demand which will ensure the Region has the talent needed for a 21st century workforce” said Greg Wathen, chief executive officer of the Economic Development Coalition of Indiana.
Eleven Fifty says it currently has an 83% placement rate with an average salary of $55,000. You can learn more about the PISA by clicking here.
