Purdue Global partners with Arizona community colleges
INDIANAPOLIS (Inside INdiana Business) — Purdue University Global has formed a partnership with Maricopa Community Colleges to help with students’ transfer from the Arizona schools to Purdue Global. Purdue Global says qualifying students will have guaranteed admission to their preferred school.
“Purdue Global and the Maricopa Community Colleges are committed to providing greater educational opportunities and services for students transferring between institutions,” Purdue Global Chancellor Frank Dooley said. “This commitment strongly supports the concept of seamless transfer that embraces the principle that transfer students should not be required to repeat courses for learning they have already demonstrated and achieved.”
Purdue Global says 86 semester credits is the maximum number of lower-division credits that can be applied to a bachelor’s degree, with the limit being the difference between total credits needed for a bachelor’s degree and university upper-division requirements. Purdue Global says most transfer pathways from Maricopa will make it easier for an application of at least 60 credits when students complete an associate degree and transfer to finish a bachelor’s degree.
“The Maricopa Community Colleges are thrilled to begin this partnership with Purdue Global, which allows our students access to a quality education through an effortless transfer experience,” said Steven R. Gonzales, Maricopa Community Colleges interim chancellor.
