Retail developer launches e-commerce site
CARMEL, Ind. (Inside INdiana Business) – Carmel retail and multi-family housing developer Pedcor Companies has launched an e-commerce website to support its Carmel City Center and Indiana Design Center retail tenants. In light of the COVID-19 pandemic and store closure mandates, Pedcor says it accelerated the site’s launch to help retailers generate virtual sales.
Pedcor says several of the locally-owned small businesses at its centers would otherwise not have an online shopping platform.
“Since the coronavirus pandemic has forced us to close our doors, online orders have been our saving grace. Our customers can visit us virtually to shop and support the Carmel City Center retailers in one place and enjoy curbside pickup or shipping,” said Bath Junkie owner Melissa Farmer.
Pedcor says it worked with a local website developer to create the e-commerce site.
“Our goal in creating this special shoppable website is to assist the small businesses at Carmel City Center and the Indiana Design Center with their online customer reach,” says Melissa Averitt, senior vice president at Pedcor Companies. “We are proud to expand shop.carmelcitycenter.com’s accessibility to the public to further our tenants’ online sales potential.”
