State to increase PPE marketplace shipments
INDIANAPOLIS (Inside INdiana Business) — The Indiana Economic Development Corp. says in its first week of operation, the Indiana Small Business PPE Marketplace has shipped 10,000 bundles of hand sanitizer, face masks and face shields. The state says as businesses continue to reopen in the coming weeks, it expects to increase the number of weekly shipments to 12,000.
Governor Eric Holcomb announced plans for the marketplace earlier this month. The IEDC says the state is working with Indianapolis-based Langham Logistics to help ship the orders to small businesses and nonprofits throughout the state.
Small businesses and nonprofits with fewer than 150 employees may place orders for PPE bundles through the marketplace. However, the state is encouraging businesses to procure PPE on their own, using the marketplace as an alternative.
