IU to provide students $10 tickets for bowl game

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (WISH) – Indiana University Athletic Director Fred Glass announced Monday that the school’s athletic department will sell tickets for the New Era Pinstripe Bowl to students for $10.

The game features IU taking on the Duke Blue Devils at Yankee Stadium on Saturday, December 26 at 3:30 p.m.

The tickets in the IU ticket allotment cost $55, however IU athletics decided to use departmental funds provide students with a deeply discounted opportunity to attend the game.

“Our students have been fantastic all season and we really want them to be able to experience a bowl game in one of the world’s truly iconic sporting venues,” said Glass. “It costs $10 for a student to see a game in Bloomington and we wanted it to be the same for them to cheer on the Hoosiers in the Big Apple.”

Students can purchase tickets to the New Era Pinstripe Bowl online or by calling the IU ticket office at (866) IUSPORTS. Students will need to provide their student ID number to purchase the discounted ticket.

In addition, students who purchase a $10 ticket will have the opportunity to purchase additional tickets for friends and family for $55 each, and the tickets will all be located next to each other.

The bowl appearance is IU’s first since the Hoosiers played in the Insight Bowl in 2007.
