INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Adult students, who previously dropped out of high school, walked across the stage and received their diploma Thursday night.

Goodwill of Central & Southern Indiana‘s Excel Center helps adults who didn’t finish their education. Students are given a tuition-free education and receive a high school diploma or an industry-recognized certification. The Excel Center also helps students free on-site child care and transportation assistance.

For Excel Center graduate Alejandra Valencia, 36, The Excel Center helped her overcome obstacles and finish her education. “I feel like I couldn’t have done it without them and my family. So I feel like I have accomplished one of my major goals in life.”

The graduates will pursue further education or employment.

The graduation was in the Puma Den of the Indianapolis Metropolitan High School, 1635 W. Michigan St.

Nearly 400 adult students from The Excel Center campuses across Indiana will be celebrating their graduation this week.
