Best of Dick Wolfsie: Scottish Rite Cathedral
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Each and every week Dick Wolfsie shares an interesting and exciting story that has a special connection to central Indiana.
This week, we continue our “Best of Dick Wolfsie” series when Wolfsie got a chance to visit the Scottish Rite Cathedral on North Meridian Street.
“It was completed in 1929,” said Fred Kortepeter, carillonneur with the Scottish Rite Cathedral. “It’s part of the Massonic fraternity and back when the building was built, we had around 40,000 members in Indianapolis.
Wolfsie even got a chance to go up in the bell tower.
Tours of the cathedral were available, but have been canceled through July 5th due to the coronavirus pandemic.
