‘Book Fairies’ wrap books ahead International Women’s Day
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — A group of women gathered Saturday for an event all about female empowerment.
The ladies, who call themselves the “Book Fairies,” wrapped more than 100 books at North View Mall on the north side in honor of International Women’s Day on Sunday, March 8.
They will leave the books as gifts all over Indianapolis, Carmel and Fishers.
Organizers said this is an opportunity to help women who might be going through hard times.
“We just want to be there, help women and make them feel good about themselves. It’s a special month and we’re hoping that it makes everybody feel good,” said Lori Shanahan, Book Fairy organizer.
The event was started by two women who own the only women’s divorce firm in the state. It has since grown with over 20 other businesses getting involved.
