Brooke Martin returns to WISH-TV
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — News 8 anchor Brooke Martin has returned to WISH-TV.
Brooke has been on leave since March following the loss of her newborn daughter, Emma Noelle. Brooke has spent the time with her husband, Cole, and their son, Max.
Brooke, a News 8 anchor since 2012, spoke about returning to the station.
“There’s no doubt the thought of returning to work brought uncertainty for me,” Brooke said. “But what I’ve found is being back at WISH is just one more step in the path of healing. This is my home-away-from-home. This is my work family.”
While gone, Brooke received hundreds of well-wishes from all over the country.
“I can’t put into words the deep gratitude I have for every single person who reached out, sent a card or gift, or prayed a prayer on our behalf,” Brooke said. “There are times in life when you get a glimpse of the sheer beauty of humanity and Emma gave us that glimpse. We are eternally grateful.”
WISH-TV News Director Al Carl welcomed Brooke back to the newsroom.
“We’re thrilled to have Brooke Martin back on WISH-TV after being away for a few months,” Carl said. “We continue to be inspired by Brooke and her husband, Cole. The brief but precious life of their baby, Emma Noelle, has touched us all. Your WISH-TV family is here for you, Brooke. Welcome back!”
