Brownsburg HS student remembered for ‘kind heart’

BROWNSBURG, Ind. (WISH) — Brownsburg High School says a cross country runner died after a medical emergency on a practice course.

In an email to parents, BHS Principal Bret Daghe announced the death of junior Logan Trout, saying that Trout passed away unexpectedly.

Daghe said Trout died on Monday after being transported to a hospital.

Another team member said Trout was one of the kindest members on the cross country team.

Daghe said Trout and the rest of the team were on the practice course when Trout experienced a medical emergency and collapsed. Teammates, coaches and trainers quickly rushed to give emergency care until first responders could arrive and rush him to the hospital.

Several other teens told News 8 that Trout sang in the school’s choir for several years. One even remembered a funny story when Trout fell off the back riser but got right back up and continued singing.

Support for Trout has poured into WISH-TV Facebook page with thousands of people reacting or reacting they are praying for his and his family.

The school says special counseling services will be made available to students.
