Doja Cat, Twenty One Pilots, Sam Hunt to play free concerts in Indianapolis

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Several major artists will play free shows in Indianapolis leading up to the College Football Playoff game in Indianapolis.

Concerts were announced Thursday afternoon by the College Football Playoff and the 2022 College Football Playoff Indianapolis Host Committee.

The game takes place Monday, Jan. 10, 2022 at Lucas Oil Stadium.

Concerts will be held on Monument Circle in the days leading up to the game.

  • Jan. 8: Doja Cat and AJR
  • Jan. 9: Twenty One Pilots and Ava Max
  • Jan. 10: Sam Hunt and Breland

There will also be events inside the Indiana Convention Center including “Playoff Fan Central.”

The event runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Jan. 8 and 9, and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Jan. 10. The event will include games, youth sports clinics, pep rallies, band performances and autograph sessions.

From 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. on Jan. 8, fans will be able to attend media day. Players and coaches from both teams will be interviewed by nearly 1,000 media members, and fans in attendance will be given complementary radios they can use to listen to individual interviews.

The College Football Playoff Foundation’s “Extra Yard for Teachers Summit” will also take place on Jan. 8. It’s a professional development event that is free for educators in Indy.

The big game kicks off at 8 p.m. Jan. 10 at Lucas Oil Stadium featuring the winners of the Cotton Bowl Classic and Orange Bowl.
