Downtown plaza named after former Indy mayor, Indiana Senator Richard Lugar

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Former Senator Richard Lugar was at a ribbon cutting Thursday morning.

The ceremony, which was held at the City-County Building, was to name a downtown plaza on the south side of the building after him.

The plaza features a lawn which can hold up to 1,500 people, aimed at hosting community events. It also has an interactive water fountain and free WiFi.
