Dru Hill to headline All White Affair at Indiana Black Expo Summer Celebration
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — The Indiana Black Expo is gearing up for its big Summer Celebration.
Among the new events for this year will be an emerging leaders track featuring events including business workshops and a career fair.
Also, local and national artists will be featured in free concerts July 17-18.
With Bankers Life Fieldhouse scheduled to be under construction, the Indiana Black Expo will host a special gala in place of the normal big concert. R&B group Dru Hill will headline the All White Affair following the gala.
Indiana Black Expo is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year.
During said a news conference at Indiana Black Expo’s headquarters on North Shortridge Road, Tanya McKinzie, the chief executive officer and president, said, “What is profound in this moment is that we do not only celebrate the journey of IBE. This moment is more than that. We also celebrate the journey that we as African-Americans have traveled on over the last 50 years.”
The organization says they will continue to announce more celebrity artists and keynote speakers over the next month.
